Cape Split

Cape Split is probably the most famous landmark of Nova Scotia's Bay of Fundy. Cape Split is a at the end of a narrow piece of land that juts out into the Bay of Fundy, the split itself and the 200ft cliffs that surround it have been eroded and shaped by the highest tides in the world over thousands of years. The land is owned by the province of Nova Scotia and is designated a Provincial Park and is therefore protected. The only way to reach the split is by hiking an 8km (one way) trail. This hike has become almost a pilgrimage for locals and tourists alike. At the end of the trail you reach a meadow which is a perfect place to sit, relax and even have a picnic while taking in the beauty of the Bay of Fundy and the rugged split 200ft below. It is well worth the hike!  

Just watch out for the seagulls, they are brazen little buggers!
